Did a search, could not fine any discussions on loose rotor rivets. In the past, I have always given the knock or rap sound cause to the pads being loose in the calipers. (Spring clips). Yesterday, after being concerned about this knock on the Tourer, I did an indept cause search. Discovered that the outer disk rotor is moving back and forth on the inner section, hence the knock when front brakes are applied. 2K Tourer, 23K miles, about a yr ago, lady backed into it, knocked it over from front, twisted forks slightly.

they are a floating disk design. suppose to be that way. if they don't float,(and sting like a bee) they will warp.

Yes, I agree with CA:

Mine have been that way for a number of years with no ill affect!

Have to keep an eye on them however, you never know!

Just one of the many responsibilities of the rider to stay on the safe side!

There should be only a slight amount of play, it shouldn't be excessive.. If you think it has too much, compare it with another or have someone look at it.. The rattle you're hearing is probably the calipers, they float too..
