Called Bonzo 1st to see how is he making out in the recovery from the broken leg and he is chompin at the bit to ride    Soon he will be back riding that 97 red and white

G-man didnt answer his phones so I took off in the Valkyrie in a northeasterly direction before finding a nice road that sorta went westerly when it wasnt going north and east and south.  We have a lot of those around here
Stopped at the Dam overlook but no pics today, water was very high and the spillways open full

Anyway before too long I was at bear mtn parkway so I meandered southwest on that to the annsville circle and took the goat trail after topping off the tank.

Lots of bikes, no Valkyries I waved so did everyone I waved at   Nice day to be alive

my intention was to cross the Hudson at Bear Mtn Bridge then go thru the park to the top of Perkins Drive which is about the tallest point around here and then see what direction the wind was blowing and go that way

So thats what I did   Must have seen a few dozen bicycles tearin ass down the road at 50mph passing bikes and cars those dudes and dudettes are nuts  wearin just shorts and those itty helmets and no way to stop   Actually that was probably me back in 1970 but did not have helmets back then on my Varsity.

After cruising down the Palisades Parkway I made it to my parents in Orangeburg around 1230 and they were real happy to see me its been a while with the trip to minnesota and work  After filling my stomach with a great corned beef sandwich I headed thru the gap into Piermont and up the west side of the Hudson and the Tappan Zee bridge

I was making such good speed on 287 that I decided to visit G-man and see these ape bars

I gotta tell you they look just like the ones on my schwinn sting ray in 1966 except his bars are black

He also has slightly smaller apes that are on the bike and that triple tred with 0 miles on it still after a month  Oh the poor bike is crying it needs to be ridden so badly

Then I burned up the Sprain into the Taconic and 9A and home to let the dogs out.  Sat by the pool with a sam adams and took a nap and here we are

Its nice having the house to myself. My middle one still lives here but at 23 she is never home : )

So all is well in Ossining NY I can safely report. The bike is now waxed and in the garage which is drying out from the 5 inches of rain we had in it Thursday and the Bushtec trailer is also now dry inside

Hope ya'll got some wind today as well.

Just a little rain! We left Crosby at 7:30 Friday morning for the 'three twisted sisters' in the Texas Hill Country', We had a beautiful 5 hours to do what we could have done in three on I-10. We don't like Interstates. We couldn't believe we were still in Texas. Highway 16 really surprised us. It was Freaking Great!. And the sisters,  (state hwys, 335, 336, and 337)Wow! On Saturday we  had overcast, so it was cool until about 2:00 pm. What a blessing that was. We stayed in New Braunfels and did about 400 miles or so on Saturday. a little long or kind of alot of miles in the heat, but wow! we had a 'pudding face' for sure.
Turn after turn and no cars! We owned the road we saw lots of wild game behind the big fences, even a Kangaroo. 17k miles on the 'new' Fat Lady since December. Gotta Love those Valkyries!
