I took a few pics of the finished product and how I powered it up....and took a video of it in action.....

I crimped some connections onto the wire leads to the winch to where I could use 2 different sets of alligator clips.....a short pair in case I ever use a battery on the trailer, and a 20' section that I can use with the Kia or whatever vehicle happens to be towing the trailer......

I used some of the protective sheathing for the wires going to the battery.....

Then I hooked the cable up to the mower using a hole I drilled in the 1/4" steel frame.....I made sure the brake was off and the hydraulic motors were in the bypass position.......

Then I got the little wireless remote out.....

And here's what I ended up with.....it should work just fine....there was one spot in the video where my finger slipped off the button....and the winch picked up speed once the mower was on the trailer floor....at least I'll be in business if I ever should need to haul something too heavy to roll on the trailer by hand..... cooldude

Can't you ride it up the ramp and onto the trailer?  Or was that a "test"?  Just asking.  coolsmiley  I see the lawn service guys ride 'em onto the trailers around here.

My suggestion would be to put a battery on the trailer and charge it up now and then,, you are losing to much current with the long leads,,, with 20 foot leads you would need at least a number 6 wire to where you would not lose any power to the winch...
with a battery mounted close probably number 10 would work just fine,,,thats the only thing i see right off hand, other than that you got yourself a mighty fine puller upper there,,,

You sure can....UNTIL a wheel motor goes out and then you can only go round and round in circles!!..... Cheesy.....cost ~ $1,000 to replace the left wheel motor/pump about a year ago.....

I thought about that.....that's why I have two different sets of alligator clips....I was curious if the longer ones would give me enough juice to get the mower on there if I had to.....Not sure I'll ever have to pull anything any heavier than the mower??..... Undecided
