The ole lady and I are planning a 5 day 4 night trip to the following city's. If anyone has any suggestions for sites to see in any of these or sounding city's  (besides martha's vineyard) we would appreciate it. We plan on site seeing 8 hours a day and riding 4-5 taking back roads.  I have been to Lake George before but not to any of the other city's.

1. Margaretville, NY

2. North Kingstown, RI

3. Laconia, NH

4. Lake George, NY

Thanks
Time

the loop northwest from lake george up through Long Lake to Lake Placid is very nice.  the road down to 87 is a sweet decent

9N to Ticonderoga is a nice ride ferry or bridge to Vermont  100 is a nice road

Kancamgus is nice   The old man on the mountain lost his nose  you can miss that one

Its all nice up that way

If I had a week off the first week of July I would consider going back to Montreal for the Festival de Jazz de Montreal    FREE MUSIC (Jazz, Rock and Blues) from 6 till midnight on 5 stages every night. The scenery north of the city is great and the Botanical Garden is a place you will not forget if you go

We stayed in a Holiday Inn that was not only motorcycle friendly but they let me chain the bushtec trailer to a standpipe in the underground garage each day

When it hit almost 100 we rode north to a water park in the mountains

Maybe I will go back next year now that I am thinking about it

If you're gonna be in that part of New England then Vermont is a must. The state roads in VT are absolutely incredible. Maybe hit Montpelier? And police presence is particularly sparse in that state as opposed to MA and NH.

I will second the Mt. Washington stop.  Did it last year and I am doing it again this year.  Just an awesome ride around the mountain and especially up the auto route.  If you have a problem with heights you may want to reconsider, there are no guard rails and part of the road is gravel.  But what a view.

Thanks for the offer. But we already made our reservations.
I was worried that A no one would allow a one night stay on a holiday weekend and B room be available on a holiday weekend.

Don't know if the areas mentioned are near Port Jervis, NY, but a worthwhile area. About four miles from Port Jervis, the Hawk's Nest section of New York Route 97 has been frequently used in television commercials and advertisements. A 30 minute drive from Port Jervis along this scenic road will lead to the oldest wire suspension bridge in the United States and a museum/home of noted author, Zane Grey. Forgive my jumpy video, but my camera mount is my left hand.  cooldude

The Hawks nest is under construction and has a light install so traffic backs up and is slow moving in that part.  There are still 2 sm areas open for parking along the stone wall.   Also went thru rt 100 in VT last sept it was nice and twisty and hilly. I saw a crotch rock in the wall on one of the turns, I did say it was twisty.
