Has anybody here been to a Guest Ranch (used to be called Dude Ranch)?  Or heard of friends/family going there?

The wife and I are looking to get away for a couple of days and she would like to go someplace she can ride horses.

As a kid, 8-9, my family went a couple of times to Bandera. When I google these Bandera is the only place that has them.  And theres like 5-6 of them there.

They seem to charge a lot but besides lodging it includes meals, horseback riding entertainment, etc...

Has anyone been and can tell me which are better than the others.  or heard from friends/family?

Bandera was the closest place I could think of.  Seen a couple of dude ranches up close for work, but never stayed.  Can't remember the names either.  Bandera has a pretty active live music scene.  No matter where you stay you'll probably find some good music in town. cooldude

Also...there's some great Hill Country roads around Bandera and Bandera plays host to at least two bike rallies every year...now you can be Valk related!
