didn't look TOO close,but, i think it gives locations of stars too.

and, i always TRY to ride safe, it's just some people seem to go out of their way to try to get me tickedoff

Hmmm....look too long to be galaxy's on edge, so I would guess probably bad data, maybe asteroids, if that's the asteroid belt....I went down and to the left, and you can get a pretty good breakdown on how big the pictures are, that are "stitched" together, and they look longer than those, which is what leads me to believe bad data.

Good eye, I hadn't gotten that "up close and personal", to pick something out like that. I did have to zoom out a bit, from your link, to get the picture, then I could zoom in again. Might be this ancient computer, though. It's ONLY for i'net cruisin', and not very good even for that, any more. More like a paperweight...

They are strips of photographic data that are more detailed than the surrounding area.  Satellites generally map data in long panoramic strips, that are stitched back together to form a mosaic picture.
