Hi all - just picked up a hot-rodded 98 tourer about a month ago. put about a 1000 miles on her and have decided it's time for a name. I'd also be interested to know if anyone on the board is familiar with the bike. PS - I'm in the Houston area and am planning to attend the meeting next month. Look forward to meeting everyone! PPS - This is my first "cruiser" having come from sport/standard/adventure bikes. The valk is a beast, and I couldn't be more pleased. Just need to figure out how to turn her without leaving a spark trail  |

Purdy bike! What is that in front of the shock, a nitrous bottle? I like the spark plug wire mod; I've considered doing that one on my Valk. Just need to figure out how to turn her without leaving a spark trail Good luck with that; let the rest of us know once you find the answer please.  |

I know that bike and the former owner (I won't give his name without his permission). He is a lifetime auto tech and a master mechanic. He spent a good deal of time with the engine work and fine tuning dry nitrous, dyna ignition, trigger wheel. The color is an OE auto paint. Bob Dron fairing. It spent most of its life in Baton Rouge LA.
One of his handles was Steel Pony.

Thanks @Jess from VA. The guy I bought it from was in Ft. LAuderdale, and had only put about 800 miles on it since he had it. I'd be very interested in asking your friend about it. There are a few switches that I don't know the function for - particularly the DynoJet (I think). There's a 3-way toggle that I'm sure affects timing, but I can't figure out which position does what . The bike is very well put together, I'm extremely pleased with it. |

That looks great. I like the color, and the modified fender. Never seen one like that before.
One comment: Be careful with those plug wires. The stock plug wire boots have flanges on them that prevent debris from falling into the plug wells. Yours won't prevent that, and I don't know how you'd clean any debris out without taking the plugs out, and thus letting it fall into the engine.
I won't be around for the July Houston meeting, so I won't be able to see it then. I hope to see you next month, though.

I don't know how you'd clean any debris out without taking the plugs out Compressed air. The mod I read online reused the OEM boots |

I have not checked "Dragonfly" regarding debris or water inside the Spark Plug caveties ... However, my '77 Wing has drain holes next to the bottom of the Spark Plug base...  On my Wing, just removing the spark plug booth will allow me to see them drainage holes. |
