Ever since September 11th, 2001, I've flown the American Flag outside my house, every day (one of those smaller ones that slips on a 5' wooden ploe)...  Over the years, I've replaced it maybe 4 times (flies 24/7 with a spotlight), as it does take quite a beating in our Wisconsin weather.  This past winter, in the big blizzard, the pole broke from the wind and heavy snow.

Dealing with the divorce, working 50+ hours/week, and generally trying to keep a roof over the heads of my 2 boys and I, I've not gotten around to replacing the broken flag, until now  cooldude

I knew I wanted something bigger, more 'Grand', maybe something on a tall free standing pole...  I looked on line and was amazed at how many 'American' flags are made in China, or other such places.  Then, I found a place right here in Wisconsin, in my back yard...  The Olympus Flag & Banner Co.  Turns out that they sell through the local Menards, Farm & Fleet, along with being sold on line in many places.  100% made in America...  The pole is 20' tall with a nice brass ball on top.  Smooth operating 'truck', rope, and cleat.  The flag is 3' x 5', with stitched stripes, and embroidered stars...  All in all, well made  cooldude  To make the purchase even easier, my local Fam & Fleet had it marked down from $140, to $86 out the door!

Here she is...  Long may she fly  Wink

Hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!

Awesome flag BD.  I fly one on my scooter all the time, along with the Texas flag.  The back window of my big ole White Dodge has a sun screen on the back window in the design of the USA Flag.

Good on ya,

Good looking setup  cooldude
I have almost the exact set up in my front yard along with a spotlight that operates on a dusk to dawn light sensor.  I did upgrade to a 4'x6' flag and looks very impressive.
Everyone have a great, safe 4th!

I've flown Old Glory since the 1st day I got home with my discharge in 1954.

Have gone through several poles, as I lived in a few places over time and many many flags.    I'm on a 1st name basis with the lady at the VFW office who gives my old flags their proper burial.

Steve, I buy my flags from the same place in WI.    Good people to deal with also.

One of their sales people talked me into a revolving never wrap around the pole deals.    It was actually a slip ring on the pole at the top and the top 1/2 of the pole turned with the flag.    Well, I think I spent more time unwrapping it than, my old poles.

Called in for a new flag, they asked how I liked to new pole I'd bought, and I was already in one of my bad moods, (Yeah I know that is normal for me), I unloaded my displeasure.   Got the deal closed on the flag and hung up.     6 days later to the day, here came my new flag and and brand spankin new pole like I'd used before.   Called and asked what the deal was, they told me since I was so dissatisfied with the new pole they were replacing it free of charge.     They just won all my flag and accessory item purchases after that.    Good company and good people, did I say that earlier?

Until I moved to an apartment, I flew the flag 24/7.  Here is what I flew on July 4th.  The Betsy Ross and the Gadson flag (before it became popular with the Tea party group). They are lit 24/7 with a 45 watt spot.  Both flags, made in the USA, were bought from a local WWII veteran.  He died and the daughter has taken over his business. I hope that Mark will continue to fly the flags.

We fly our flags 24/7 as well - I hunted to find a light I liked before I bought the pole and flags.
