Anyone out there that can get an alternator for Lyn-Del and hopefully deliver it to their Motel for tonight if they can make it that far?

Her phone # is 713-201-2366
2000 Std.
Headed to UP.

RTaz, Timber-wolfe, anyone.

She called me to get the word out.     I'm too damn far away to help out.

Thanks in advance.

I know Valkyrie Bling is closed while they get ready for InZane, but I just sent her contact info to Big Mike...  He is in MI, and if anyone could get their paws on an alternator, he might be a good one to try...

I have one in Troy, MI which is 8 mi. north of detroit.  Problem is I have plans I can't get out of tonight and leaving for Pittsburgh tomorrow.  My number is 248-79four-6037, if some one can come get it, by tomorrow morning, I'd be glad to help.  What is Lyn-del's number and where are they?

I'm always amazed at what the people of the VRCC CAN and WILL do to help out.

When the bike died this morning, we were on the side of the road with my bike hooked up to his with jumper cables (we actually have 3 sets with us - on his bike, on my bike, and in the trailer).  A nice guy stopped and escorted us less than a mile to the Victory dealership he works for.  They put in a new battery (at their cost, not retail!!), put a meter on the alternator and determined it was working feebly, then not, then working, etc.

When we stopped to recharge my battery, Wizard and I were trying to think who might know who might have an alternator.  He said we needed to get the word out -- and it occurred to me that RJ is a major source of help and information, plus he most likely was near his computer.

Within a couple of hours, Mike from Valkyrie Bling and More called me and said he just wanted say Hi, how was I doing ....... he'd gotten word of the problem and had the parts we need!!

Wizard pulled the fuse on my headlight, and off we went.  Stopped to recharge battery a few times, but we made it safely to our hotel in Mackinaw City, MI.

Thanks again to RJ, Black Dog, Mike, Skinhead, RTaz, and Rocketman for the assistance - and anyone I missed, of course.

I'l have to agree with Strider -- I hate this club!!

What a bunch of selfish unconcerned do-nothing layabouts on this board! of course I'm referring to myself, and not the folks who answered RJ's call to action. Puts a big smile on my face!

If you're not careful, that Rockeman dude will drop what he's doing, drive up there, R&R the alternator - slowly, so you can take pictures of the how-to session - then turn around and drive straight home when he's done.  With no sleep, having not accepted even gas money, and with important NASA meetings to attend the next morning.  Then post about it before going to sleep!  Sheesh...   Wink
