do you leave overlly snarky responses on blogs and forums? do you do this because you are safely ensconsced behind your keybord and feel invincible?  this may be undermining our presidents attempt at bringing civility to our nation.  uglystupid2

I decided a while back that if I won't say it to your face I'll just do a bunch of muttering under my breathe. I hear this kind of thing out in the truck stops and some guy is hiding behind the mic of his big radio, "Radio Rambo" they're called, you never hear them in a crowded restaurant or busy truck stop. so I like to call them the more contentious term for a house cat. 4 years I've only cussed out one driver that pulled out right in front of me and I had to lay down 18 identical rubber racing stripes....

It is interesting what one will say to another when there is no risk of getting their a$$ beat in the equation!  And to tie the thread to motorcycling... isn't it interesting how bikers wave to each other on the road but motorists in other vehicles pretty much just engage in their road rage antics?  I wonder if that too has to do with the fact that the motorcyclists physically see one another while the motorists are ensconced in their vehicles and anonymity...

I'm a member of a couple of competition shooting forums where you can't use a screen name.  You have to use your own.  That way no one can hide behind their screen name and take pot shots at others.  One of the reasons I always sign my posts.

I like that, Marty.
Good idea. When in business I always said, if you write something, put your name on it. Never thought about applying it to a forum. I've got nothing to hide either.

Sounds like a good idea (no potshots at each other in a ...shooting....forum).

Hmmm
I do not hide behind a handle.
I use a handle because most gringos can not pronounce my name.
Seumas: pronounced Shay-mus.
Means James in Gaelic.
Name has been in the family a lot longer than the U.S. has been around.
Piper is a title sort of. Bagpiper grade four. My playing sounds better the more scotch YOU drink.

Knowing that what is placed on the internet can stay there a lot longer than what people realize, I have a tendency to be more polite on line than in person.

it's not like the old days, I wouldn't know I wasn't driving then but I hear stories. all you hear is talk, no action.

I frequent truck stops for parking, fuel, food, and little else......

That's true on several of my dog training email lists as well.  It does set a different tone, though on one we're now all even closer friends than even the VRCC!

You're going to have to stay away from all the Sassenachs.  Roll Eyes They'll never be able to pronounce your name properly.  I will admit your's in one of the few I've seen with that spelling, at least in the U.S.  My kilt maker spells his "Seamus".  Congrats on the Grade 4  Wink,  I'm still on chanter.  Haven't learned to read music yet and it slows me down a bit.
