Good job honkie! I like them bags! Someone better, they were like 800 bucks! (not that I paid it) Oh, and I did the shock bushings today (which I already posted about in the tech section) but just got back from a ride a little while ago. Got caught in a downpour (needles to the face!). But anyway, big ride improvement. The whole bike feels tighter. Could be all in my head, maybe not. I also did the I/S carb spring mod. Livens up the engine a bit and easy as pie. Money well spent.

Hey, is that a Piper Colt in the background in the first picture? Took my first flying lessons in one when they first came out, suckers would glide like a Steinway! As for the bike, I like the bags and seat combo with the red added...nice touch. Just wondering if that little one likes to ride as much as my four girls did. They didn't argue much when it came to the front seat in the car, but pull out the bike and it was "me first" in a chorus of four.

Hey, is that a Piper Colt in the background in the first picture? Took my first flying lessons in one when they first came out, suckers would glide like a Steinway! I'm pretty sure it's a Tri-Pacer. I seem to recall the Tri-Pacer had the "glass" aft of the seats where the Colt did not. But basically a Colt is just an 8/10's scale (or somewhere thereabouts) Tri-Pacer. They look virtually identical. And yes, Monica loves to ride. It's the first year that's she's big enough. She thinks it's the frigging coolest thing when I pick her up from school on the bike. Only problem is that she's so scrawny that I have to keep checking to make sure he's still there. I carry more weight in the saddlebags!

Yeah...what ever ! I've seen other '97s.....but not with red piping and painted studs on the leather !! I used to think the accents were kinda ghey. I still think they're a little over the top, but I've grown to like it. Wanna hear something sad? That Tri-Pacer has sat in that same spot for almost 20 years without moving. The owner is some hundred year old dude who lost his ticket years ago but refuses to sell it. It's been hangared all that time so it's in pretty good shape considering, but still kinda sad.

Anvil..? Are you still riding some one elses bike? You have to show the Valk you love her by making her your own. I know it seems like messing with perfection but Monica was an awesome accessory to add ! unfortunately she does not count as customization. What have you changed so far ? ?

Changed? The fork springs and carb diaphragm springs. The rest is as I got it from my Buddy Matt. I plan on putting different handlebars and mirrors on it (looking for the right drag-bar setup) but haven't settled on anything yet. Beyond that? I really don't want to change anything to be honest.

Wonder if he'd sell it to an old, not so bold, 73 yr. old pile-it. After sitting that long I would imagine the annual would be rather expensive, including new tires. Hopefully the engine was "mothballed."

Nice pics and a great looking ride. Monica looks like a great passenger. Looking forward to when my Grandson can ride with me.....When his mother will let him that is he is 5. Maybe in a couple yrs. Ecellant choice of colors and glad you got one of the "Fast" ones. Mine on an old Shell Florida road.

Nice lookin' Valk, especially the saddlebags, sets it off from others. I like it. This is coming from a former owner of a black Valk with yellow pinstripes and a custom Diamond gold colored velour seat.

Hopefully the engine was "mothballed." He won't sell it. But when he passes I'm thinking his son will. The engine is probably fine but will need a freshening, seals gaskets etc. It'll need new tires and brakes, fuel lines and tank work... but other than that my big concern would be the fabric. It might be okay but it might not and if it needs recovering then that's a lot of money.

HAHA FINE!!!!!!! Nothin beats the lil'one on the back. The funny thing is, I guess, that planes and old cars all have the same clowns that are gonna restore em someday. Thank goodness for the disinterested heirs.
