I recently changed my oil and now it seems like the clutch does not fully disengage.  I feel the bike pulling even with the clutch fully in and it is really really hard to shift.  It does seem to get a little better when the bike gets hot but it is still very noticeable.  I changed it is amsoil 10w-40 full synthetic.  I am pretty sure this is what i always put in.  I am working on changing my hydrolic clutch fluid but am working on the rusty screws.  It seems like this started with the oil change.  Any ideas?

I doubt an engine oil change has anything to do with your clutch issue.. I would be more apt to think the problem is the clutch lever or bushing or maybe even air in the system if you've had it open recently.. Is the problem only with disengagement ??  Does it engage OK ??

Worst case scenario is clutch disc lost the rivets. Several folks here can help with any problem. _

it engages fine.  No problems there.  The system has not been opened in a long time so i would not think air.  I am also unaware of any way to adjust the clutch since it is hydrolic.  I have always thought the clutch engaged with very little movement, but i just thought that was the bike.

This problem also seems to happen fairly sudden.  Parked it for about a week or so and when i got on it again this was going on.

There is no adjustment unless you shorten the push-rod.. These clutches do engage near the end of the travel so any any wear  or stickiness in the lever/bushing can cause a problem.. Its my understanding that the clutch rivet issue usually causes a    ' jerkiness' in engagement, I haven't dealt with it..

Just had the same problem after the bike sat for a while. Bled the clutch according to the method shown on the tech board and voila- perfect. Do a search and try it first.

The Valkyrie Service Manual mentions the problem your having with the clutch.

It says to check your oil viscosity and oil level before servicing the clutch.

thanks for all the help.  I finally got the rusty bolts off the reservoir and was able to change the hydrolic fluid.  After 5 years or so it was bad.  A lot of sludge and the actual level was low.  The view window has yellowed on my pretty bad and i thought it was all fluid.  It was not.  The clutch works fine now and it also shifts much better.  The actual engage point on my clutch has also moved considerably.  Enough so that i thought the bike was in neutral because the point has moved a few inches out.  I am so happy to have the fixed.  Thanks all
