Joe, the caliber designation is usually on the barrel of a revolver.

Load that pistola up with a hydro shock round and it will accomplish maximum cell disruption.

Joe...if you want .357 in htis style look at the S&W 640....very similar in design to the 642 EXCEPT the 640 weighs about 23oz while the 642 is about 15oz empty....640 will shoot .357, .38+P and .38 no problem...642 is rated for .38 and .38+P.....both excellent....640 is more $$$.....

Mitch, I disagree.  Speer's 135 gr .38 Special +P Gold Dot Hollow Point.  Designed specifically for short barreled revolvers.

 Cheesy  I use a car tire on my motorcycle that means if I have a 38 then I'll shoot 357's in it...If I have a 45 I'll shoot 410's in it...Its how I roll  Cheesy

Hey Joe,
if it is a 357 then you can shoot 38's in it but if its a 38 then the 357's wont fit....

Original Hydro Shock did not expand like it was supposed to and was prone to getting plugged up when shot through jean material etc. That is why Federal came out with HST which stands for Hydro Shock Two, meaning second generation . HST is nasty stuff.Expands completely and reliably. Looks like jagged flower petals . OUCH!

Just an FYI Joe. The .357 Magnum is 1/8" longer to prevent you from shooting a car tire ( I mean a .357) in a .38 Special cylinder!   Grin Cool
