OK, for the record, (2001 I/S) with a cold engine turn the ignition to on.  The oil pressure AND the temp light come on.  After 2 seconds the temp light goes out and the oil stays on.  Start the engine and the oil pressure light goes out.  With a hot engine, the very same sequence occurs, key on, oil pressure on, temp light on for 2 seconds. Start engine and oil goes out.  Don't got a kick stand light that I know of..... crazy2

and....on a standard or tourer when you turn on the key with the bike sitting on the kickstand the oil and side stand light comes on but not the water temp light.  Then once started the oil light should go out unless there is a problem and the side stand stays on until the side stand is actually raised
