That is Kool!  Looks neat too.  Should have put it on all models, esp would be nice for my sidecar rig!

I know it has been discussed before, but I do not remember anyone figuring out just exactly what is different parts wise in those models to get the reverse.  Just add something, or a complete swap of parts?

What about a Japanese salvage yard, and graft the tranny onto my engine?

     A lot of salvage drivetrains from Japanese cars are imported to the US for the performance aftermarket. I bet some of those same companies could get there hands on motorcycle drivetrains as well. Wouldn't be cheap but it would be cool.

I haven't run into too many situations where reverse was absolutely necessary... only because we all probably are aware of our surroundings while parking and take the fat lady's weight into consideration when coming to a stop.  It would be real cool to have though for just in case.

My other ride is a 1500 Wing w/ reverse.  In four years I've only used it twice.  Once was to mess with the HD's and the other was trying to sneak between the gate and concrete wall on the ramp to Daytona Beach to go for a beach cruise.  That's when I really needed it and was sure glad I had it.
