And I'm not sure what hits in a tip over or fall and slide.

All the expensive stuff........................

Rams

Slide a ways and then you could have it roll over on the windshield and slide a bit on the other side. All this starting out at about 25-30 mph. Wonder what a headlight, tach, windshield brackets, highway peg and saddle bags paint job will cost? While I'm painting, might as well throw in an Interstate tank paint job too.

I wonder how silly some GL1000 bags would look if they were paint-matched and had some updated LED lighting…

Before I'd put those clunkers on (painted or not), I'd just get some softside bags (with no conchos, fringe or studs) and mount them to some of those single loop mounts.

Some softside bags can be made to lock (little luggage padlocks, only for the law abiding).

Saddleman:

Viking large Lamellar:

Mustang

Loop mounts (must be right for Valk fender strut mount)

Sometimes a good deal pops up on evil bay, but they are generally in a rough state and will require to be painted to match your bike.

Here is one example for 98 bucks:

That doesn't appear to be an OEM Valkyrie bag.

Yes, the lid lip is the tell.  Champions cost more than OE (or did).  Don't know what one would be good for.

You would need the Champion hardware too...
