Thought I'd share a few shots of what I've been experiencing over the past week with the mandatory town evacuation and close down of my workplace, Los Alamos Medical Center.

This was a shot from my backyard as I was doing some BBQ burgers Sunday of last week. Initially thought this was blowing our way from the Santa Fe Pacheco Fire that'd been burning and smelling up the area for sometime. Either that or I'd done my burgers Dag style.

Heading in to the office:

The office straight ahead.

Another day goes by, a different angle.

Around town.

Down my street.

My immediate neighborhood.

We're still not out of the woods on this one, the hospital has reopned the ER, town folk have returned to their homes, fire plumes can still be seen in the immediate mountains around us. Not comforting.

Sure was a humbling experience quickly scanning though all of your personal possesions trying to determine what goes and what can't possibly that you have to write off.  Embarrassed

Each day watching the reports from Santa Fe, Zero% contained, next day and the next day, same status. Chance of winds blowing east that evening (bad), light rain all around but no where near Los Alamos. National Guard and State Police everywhere.

Luckily I managed to get both Valks out of harms way along with what could fit into the trunk and back seat of a Monte Carlo (not much).

Shot of my backyard. You think I should clear some of the fire fuel back a bit?

Chuck - F6Banger has checked in on me a couple of times offering his help or support, thanks again Chuck, much appreciated.

So far, so good.  cooldude

Everybody... think rain and no winds!!! Maybe if F6gal, Motomomma and RHonda did a little rain dance and sent it this way...   Wink

Hope you get some rain man, or the winds lay down, you folks need a break.

Noticed Trinity Drive in one of your photos, kinda what made that area famous after WWII, right?

They named a little known flick after that, Trinity the Nuclear Bomb Movie.

Here's to a good rainstorm coming your way.

Wow!  That is just too spooky, having that in your backyard.  Hope Mother Nature will cooperate and dowse those fires.  Fortunately, we have had enough rain here to keep the Front Range fires under control.

If you need anything, just say the word!  Can't imagine what's going on in your town.  The pics look like something from Dante's Inferno.  Be safe.
