One of the hardest things for me to do is keep my mouth shut and listen. As i got older and had more experiences with life, I formed opinions. Opinions are not necessarily based on facts but are colored by my 'experiences' On more than one occasion, my 'opinions' were shot down by facts. I have become very cautious about opening my mouth. Unfortunately, in my opinion ( ) as I grow older I think that I have something to offer the 'unwashed' multitude and stick my wrinkled neck out again and throw caution to the wind. Keep in mind that caution doesn't neccessarily equate to wimpism. On some things I stand my ground. However, for the most part, it just isn't worth the trouble to get my panties all in a wad over some of the arguments popping up on this board. I'm reminded of some inaccurate quotes (inaccurate as in my geezer memory) , here's a few........... It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people assume that you're an idiot than open your mouth and remove all doubt. When i was 20 years old, I was ashamed of how little my parents knew. When I became thirty years old, i was amazed at how much they learned in 10 years! (Loose quote from Samuel Clemens) Those that do not learn by their mistakes are doomed to repeat them. Discretion is the better part of valor. Nobody like a wisearse. So Snope this all you want while I keep my mouth shut jes' listening for my mistakes. Solo1

Actually, from what I've seen over the years the majority of your post's tend to be intelligent, well thought out and full of the wisdom that only comes from age.

Hey Wayne, as my kids have been saying lately, take a chill pill dad.
So go for it buddy, no one will question you for long, us other old timers got your back and will take care of that.
I'vehad a few bullets shot at me so far this week. I just let them bounce off my back. Especially when it pertains to me being a red neck cop. That is so far from the truth, the writer doesn't even know it. Especially when most of my life was protecting people like him.
Aw, crap, let's get back to our normal programming.

I felt good when I started this thread this morning, keeping my mouth shut is working out.
I feel even better after taking the VStrom out this morning for a nice romp burning out the gunk at 90 mph on a deserted county road. That 1000 is a real torque monster for its size. There, now it's motorcycle related, but it only has 1/3 the cylinders of a Valk, there, now it's Valk related. That about covers it.

FB, I'm with you too 100%. I just looked at the VRCC Mission statement and it says that potential Valkyrie riders are also welcome. Like you, I don't own a Valk anymore but my sons do so I'm a potential Valk Rider.
I don't think that this club will be like the GWRRA where, at one time, they 'welcomed' Valk owners but ignored them.
At any rate, I'm looking forward to seeing you and HG at Inzane.

He's full of something, that's for sure. At age 42 I am still embarrassed by how little my dad knows! Just kidding, dad! You know I still ask for advice!

Wayne I also remember when I thought that 30 was overthe hill. We were really smart back in those days, at least I thought I knew it all. Now I realize how dumb I really was, and am grateful that my folks put up with my nonsense. Wish they were still around, would be nice to try and payback some.
