discount the employment picture for now

its a trailing indicator of the economy a leading economic indicator is transportation. truck and rail freight volume is the first into the toilet of resession and WE'RE THE FIRST OUT.

want to know if the economy is recovering? ask a truck driver. you can see it started trending downward the second half of 08 and bottomed out mid 09. the highs we're having now are about the lows of 06-07.

You can't really discount unemployment because it has a direct effect on trucking. People buy less, manufacturers ship less.
