I crossed the border this morning from Delaware to Jersey and stopped at the first service plaza. while I was standing in line for food the family a few ahead of me was speaking French. when I sat down the couple to my left was speaking Korean, the older gents in front of me were speaking 'Greek-lish'? sounded mediterranean to me, but every 11th or 12th word was English. I'd look up when the guy facing me hit a stretch of English, he smiled at me once or twice. who knows these folks could have all been tourists, I am all for immigration. the legal kind.

I've noticed a lot of that too.  That's why one of my helmets has a sticker on it that says..."This is America, so why do I have to press #1 for English"

oh I don't mind it, I'm pretty sure the people mentioned can speak fluent english. I always try to make a connection between what I hear and the body language of the speaker, human behavior seems to be pretty constant across the planet. coolsmiley

sounded mediterranean to me, but every 11th or 12th word was English.

I used to have an Indian office mate who would often talk/scream on the phone at
his Indian graduate students in Indian, but every 11th or 12th word was *&^*&$!! or #@$!!^

I was in a sysco in las vegas and two  polish guys were having a conversation, they stopped after a while and apoligized. I said no problem I was trying to place the language, and failing. I mean spanish I hear all the time and soon I'll pick up enough words to have a 'dock conversation' how many 'palatas' am I getting?
