Question on Fork oil
«

I need to replace the seals again , 24 months later, probably because of the desert heat here, we use to use tranny fluid years ago and was told the tranny fluid is 15 WT where as "fork fluid is 10 WT , i think the heat here 110 plus degrees thins it out too much,
Dumb question ...why can't i put a "20 WT " motor oil in the forks?

I would use the recommended viscosity, but may I suggest that you use the Belray brand. They claim to keep the seals from leaking with their patended "seal swell" additives. I've used it since the early eighties and I've always been impressed with the results. I've used it on my old Brit bikes, at least one Harley, my old Goldwing, and both of my Valks, so I'm conviced it works.
