Inquiring minds want to know.
Nothing serious here, I'm just curious.
Are there many non-Valk owners on this board?  Are there folks here that used to own a Valk that no longer have one or that have switched to other kinds of bikes?
Again, I'm just curious.  I have been a member for over 10 years, although I don't visit every day like I did when I first got my Valk, but I like this board because I can always find the answer to any Valk questions I have or solutions to any Valk (and some non-Valk) issues I encounter.
I guess to carry this one step farther, if you switched to a different bike, what did you switch to and why and why do you still join us on this board?

There are several Non-Valk owners here, for many different reasons they are with out Valk. I dont think being with out Valkyrie has ever gotten any one removed from this "Cult" of Valk lovers.  Wink  Hopefully those present and Valkyrie LITE  will chime in.........

A former Valk owner are we.  Our '99 Standard carried us about for four years and some change.  Now, we ride the Beast:

Sometimes we miss the Valk, but we take solace in having given her a good home.  We come here still because we remain very interested in Valks and there are many nice folks here.

We trudge on.

98 Valkyrie owner from 2002 to 2006. Loved the bike, hated the range.

ST1300 since 2006 and a KLR since last year.

Know too many people on this board to leave.

It's more about the people than the bike.

If I had the money and space I would have another Valkyrie in a heartbeat.

I'm one of the non Valk owners on the board but only because I totalled two of them out.  One wreck from another driver falling asleep, hitting and guardrail and spinning out in front of me.  4 months and 2 days later on my second 2000 Blue and Silver Interstate I hit a deer that I never saw. The second wreck nearly did me in and still have some issues from the second wreck.

I have met some wonderful people on this board and have continued to go to some of the functions on account of those friendships.  Only time will tell if I get another bike but will keep in touch with or without a Valkyrie.  I still plan on making functions near enough to attend and will participate in the board as long as they will let me.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Bought a Valk {my '97} Love it but fell in love with the Rocket 3. I had a 1 1/2 year affair with it before I sold it to buy Kim's Valk for her.

Kim's Valk.

I strayed from the Valk but never sold it as I realized the Valk was better for me. Kim rode my Valk to the Keys one year while I rode my R3. We learned two things, I wasn't getting my Valk back unless I bought her one & the R3 was not going to replace my Valk.
Sooooo... that's as close as I got to not being a Valkyrie owner.

Then this one came along at a price I could not pass up.
As bought.

Improved version.

Kim is a Shadow Spirit owner as well but we haven't seen it in over a year. She loaned it to her brother after he wrecked his big Suzuki then lost his job. It is his only transportation.
When we get it back I have some plans for it!  Shocked   Inline 4 in a Shadow.. Evil
Stay tuned!

Don't think I'll ever be a non-Valk owner, I keep riding other bikes but alas, they all come up short.

I'm a non-valk owner.  Jabba bought a '02 valk in 03 and I inherited his old CB900C,  I rode it until a few years ago and swtiched to an 04 Sabre.  I want a valk, and I will have one.  I'm currently saving my pennies and I'm gonna add an I/S to the mix.  The Sabre is awesome for the comuting and intown stuff and the I/S will be awesome for the longer stuff when the wife wants to go with....

Okay, so I'm a new guy who doesn't have a Valk. I have ridden and few and registered on the board to do some snooping about them. There is one in town I may be very serious about. Thing is, I have a Victory Tour Deluxe from '03 that I have done a ton of stuff to to make it the right bike for us. If I do the Valk thing I'd have to start all over. Primarily, we love Mustang seats and don't know how Valk stock seat is. She'd need floorboards, we'd need a trailer hitch and wiring because we pull either a cargo trailer or a small bunkhouse camper all the place. The Valk has a shield but no bags, so Leatherlykes or similar would have to be put on.

I love the Vic and it is still strong with the 100ci kit and does a great job but the Valk would be a strong tow bike also and the mileage on the Valk would be like getting a new bike. 3,700 on the Valk versus over 50K on the Vic. SO, I'm a non-Valk owner, but that may change.

I have a 98 Valkyrie standard that I bought in 01 as a leftover. It now has 94K miles on it and it is in exceptional condition regardless of mileage.

I also own a 07 ElectraGlide.It's a great bike too.

Previous valk owner here.   Have had two, a '98 and a'99, but in 2002 I sold the '99 and went with a Goldwing for various reasons.  Presently drive a 2009 Goldwing, but I enjoy riding with the Valk folks and will continue to do so as long as you'll have me.  You guys are a helluva lot more fun than them Goldwing folks.   cooldude

I've been hanging out on the board where they talk about these things for the
last few weeks (ever since seeing a couple of them, and their happy riders, up
in the NC mountains...).

I think they might be tired of me posting pictures of Valkyries and talking about
Valkyries...  coolsmiley

Me too.  I really like my Sabre for the commuting and short in town stuff.  It's "small" and light and easy get around on.

I've got it decked out thou too,  Crash bars, highway pegs floor boards, mustang seat, sissy bar, back rest, iron rider luggage, wind shield, light bar, throttle lock, GPS, ect...  So taking it on trips isn't too awful bad, for me. If my wife with me we need something alittle bigger and more comfortable for her, i.e. an Interstate....

Been around a long time, started with a 98 standard I bought new,  then an almost new 2K Interstate that had been upside down.  Went on to buy two more, a very low mileage 97 police Valk, and 97 supercharged.  4 Valks are almost too many, so let my son have the 98, sold the 97 supercharged bumble bee sans the supercharger.  Got intrested in real speed, and almost bought a Hayabusa, but was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, so let my riding bud have the Busa as the ergos werent great for me, and wanted to wait for the outcome of my problem.  Got by that, and bought a ZZR1200 which was great and had good ergos, but got tired of Bud and the Busa kicking my butt, so bought a ZX14, great ergos and out of this world performance, no more butt kicking.  Was going to make a sport tourer out of it but the Concours 1400 came out and I got one.  Not as rip your arms out of the socket powerful as the ZX but still awesome.  Now the two Valks are sadly neglected, and the Kaws are mostly what I ride.  Like Solo 1, I find them light and tossable, much easier on the old knees.  The occasional blast to 180+ on the ZX keeps the thrills going, and when they get too much for me, I will probably look at the Can Am.  Will still be qart of the club, nomatter what.

I was on the board for a few months before I got my Valk.  I try to do as much research on the  vehicles I buy.  I asked a lot of questions and even test rode a few to make sure this is what I wanted.  Now that I have Wall-E safe and sound in my garage, I have never looked back.  A few people have asked me if I will ever get bored with my Valk.  I just tell them don't hold your breath waiting for me to sell it.  You will die from lack of oxygen.  Best purchase I have ever made.

Thanks to all of you for the stories.
I bought my '98 Tourer new in April of '98.....then the rains came and I thought it would be June before I could the first 500 miles on it.
It has been and still is a great bike, but I have to admit to having a bit of apprehension about being able to find parts in the near future.

Well, I`m Valk-less also. I said "getty-up with my mouth with out having my mind hooked to it " and TP took me up on it and bought my Tourer.  Roll Eyes She is in Apple Valley, MN.
But, I`m still here every day as if I had a Valkyrie. Although I`m 76 I`m not thru riding yet. All I have to do is sell the wife, of 38 years, that I`m not done yet.  Wink
Not sure about buying another Valk. or what, but it will have two wheels.  Smiley

i've been on the board for quite some time though I don't have a Valk but sure do want one. The will and the mind are there but the bank account doesn't seem to be cooperating  Cry tickedoff. Being a Valk owner is definitely a goal for me. After being on the board and constantly reading about the Fat Lady, it is the only bike I really want.
