Guys,

It has been a while since I have been on here.  I was a regular for a while when I first got my bike, so I decided to come back when I needed help.

I need to get some tires for my bike.  The cash flow is a little low, so I was hoping if someone knew of a place where I could get some take offs until I can get some new ones in October.

If not, can someone point me to the best deal? Email me at whonneb at hotmail dot com

I have a rear Dunlop E3 with maybe 2000 miles left on it.  Replaced it last summer before heading to InZane.

I have a front E3 that is down to the wear indicators.  Might get you down the road a piece.

Where are you located?

what we do is go online to www.mawonline.com    find the tire we want, then get our VRCC sponsor(Al lambs Honda) to price match it for us.   we have darkside(car) on the back so we can usuually get a used one from a tire shop(Marcos in haltom city)  for about $30 bucks, and we mount it ourselves.  oh yea, we mount the front one too, but there are some places that don't charge too much to mount tires. Good luck)  cooldude

Would I have to do any modification for the darkside on the rear?  I have a 2000 interstate.

depends on the width of the tire you get.  also, make sure the darkside tire is firm, not squshy, as it will collapse if it is. and make sure you run the proper air pressure in it too, i know some people prefer less air for a smoother  ride, but really it's not a good idea. pick a darkside tire similar in pattern to your front for best ride. ours is 205/60/r16, goodyear, we did not have to make any mods, but if the tire rubs you'll have to fix that, we are running an elite 3 right now, but have had avon venoms, and he likes the metzler front much better, holds up longer and better control.
if you have any questions, u can email me and i'll ask.  kayferdinandsen1952@yahoo.com Can i say"welcome to the darkside?" oh yeah! you don't have to blow a paycheck on one of those expensive yokahamas , a goodyear or bridgestone tire for $50 will do great! we even take her out to the track(texas raceway) and she is still a "5 second bike " on the quarter mile!  2funny uglystupid2

Hey Whonneb , look up Jake Wilson . com they have some pretty descent prices on tires  for the Valks free shipping on anything over $99 and will have it at your door step in three days .... I'll be needing to replace the front Avon tire next month in Aug......  I believe their price was $ 173.00 and some change for an Avon ... I'm glad I went Darkside with a Michelin Pilot 205-55-16 its got 20,000 miles and stll looks new ... I gave about $ 135.00 from Sam's Whse back in Dec. 2008 & $ 40 for mounting & balancing .... Ride safe Whonneb & keep cool .... The Geezer crazy2
