Steve, I heard about that also, got a chuckle out of it after learning what the driver did to him. Whoopsie....wrong car! Trouble is, people like that are so dumb that he'll most likely try it again when he gets out....assuming he's still young enough to get around.

Lets see the upper shoulder area.
Like where the aorta is located and a lot of vital arteries and disabled the man.
Pretty good shot under those circumstances.
He did not miss thereby not injuring the public and he stopped action of the assailant.
Who was apparently not able to flee.
THe perp is alive to face charges and nobody got killed.
What would youdo traveling through this neighborhood on your scooter if attacked as this guy was.
Call 911
Ask him about his childhood.
Forgive him
or just stop the Chit before he killed someone.
SOrry the Gun Permitted person did not kill the waste of a good breath of air and we would not be talking about a repeat offender.

NOt a poke at you Suger Bear at all.
But he was close to center mass.
That is better than most do in a bad situation,
I am just so tired of all the liberals(NOT YOU) giving law abiding citizens a hard time just defending ourselves
from the idiots that won't work and try to live off the rest of us(POLITICIANS FILL THIS BILL ALSO) by robbing and stealing.
A dead offender is always better than a repeat offender.
No hard feelings mate.
ANd I am always too serious.
Sorry.

Reminds me of an incident in Washington DC years ago. Some knucklehead tried to carjack a car sitting at a stop sign. Sadly, the FBI Agent driving the car drew his weapon and shot and killed him! Priceless! Linedog

Double tap!! The fellow forgot to double tap the scumbag!! Boys and girls, don't forget - its two to center mass and one to the head. Tends to eliminate most problems. Gotta admit, under pressure, he did as well as most of us would have done......just saying.

Well double tap is good.
But they taught me that all you need to do and should do is stop action.
If the guy is laying there after I shoot him in the balls.
ANd is just hollering for his mommie, that is all it took.
The pharmacist that went back out and shot the guy dead that was laying on his floor shot,
gets to spend time with Bubba in the pen locked up for 20 years.
Witnesses and security cameras, not your best friend in these cases.
Don;t shoot a man when he is down unless he has a weapon and is trying to continue the fight.
Then pop him till dead.

To a few thugs who attempted to rob it, they thought it meant a reference to a cartoon. They found out quickly that Pooh stands for (P)olice (O)fficer's (O)ffduty (H)angout! The bar is owned by a retired cop, and most of the regulars are city police.

Yeah, I once represented two 16-17yo hoodlum wannabes who decided to burglarize a bar/restaurant....... the night of the FOP convention there. Those boys were dumb as rocks.
When I went in to talk to the cops and prosecutor about a plea bargain, they were laughing their azzes off.
Each was charged with simple assault and simple larceny.... we got our choice to plead to either charge and the other would be dropped.
Now the test....... given those two charges, which one would you choose to plead to????

Crime against a person? Crime against anothers property? I'm gonna guess and choose Larceny? Is that a lesser crime?

You're both wrong (course in any individual case, there might be a specific reason to take the larceny over the assault.... but generally no) (both crimes carried the identical misdemeanor max)
Larceny is a crime of moral turpitude and dishonesty, assault is not. While assaults can be aggravated, a simple assault may be no more than a push or slap (or a fair fight with fists only). Any young man with his life ahead of him is much better with a simple assault on his record than a larceny. This is true even though the larceny has no violence and the assault requires some degree of violence. A man can have a hot temper, but still be as honest as the day is long. A thief will always be a thief, and his integrity suspect.... trouble in the business world.
But here was the Hobsens dilemma. They were caught stealing a truck load of empty's in MI, at a dime or more apiece (a lot of bottles/cans, not a lot of money). When caught they resisted (and the cop put one down with one return punch.... which the young man earned). I knew the judge would give them a walk and a fine for the simple larceny, but he protected his cops, and they risked a weekend in jail, and maybe a higher fine to boot on the assault (this was not charged as 'assault on a police officer' a greater offense, but the facts were clear).
I told them (and the dad) that they should plead to the assault and take their punishment, even if a weekend in jail, rather than end up with a larceny on their record. The boys were dubious, but the dad agreed, and that's how it went down. They got a minimal fine, and nothing else. The fact I knew the judge, cops and prosecutor had something to do with it (and I argued in sentencing that no boy connected with a cop despite the struggle, but the cop put one's lights out and that should be considered as some of sentence already received (with a smile, cause it's bull). I personally thought an overnight in the local slam would have done them good, but I'm supposed to be on their side, and I was.
So there you have it.
