the current debate over the debt ceiling is hitting a wall, the prez wants a tax increase, the repubs want a balanced budget amendment. the dems shouldn't have a problem with that they selectively ignore laws that get in their way. example in 2010 they didn't pass or even contemplate a budget because it was an election year, they funded the government with CR after CR (continuing resolution) once the incoming repubs started doing CR's the prez said it was 'irresponsible' to fund the gov this way. another example "pay go" I don't know who wrote the bill or sponsored it but it passed with a wide margin. the prez said (I'm paraphrasing) 'the American people have to live within their means and they expect their government to do the same'. they passed the Prez signed it and ignored it, passing 2 more spending bills (called jobs bills by dems) and added it to the deficit. that's when sen Jim Bunting an out going senator decided to filibuster a third spending bill until they funded it like they said they would. he was excoriated in the media (big surprise) and a deal was made he stopped filibustering and they moved on. so whats the big deal?

the Prez acted like a spoiled kid the other day storming out of the room when he wasn't getting his way (if we are to believe Eric Cantor) he said 'don't call me bluff'. you'd think the smartest guy in any room he walked into would know enough to not tell the guys across the table that he's bluffing.

back during the lame duck session when the Prez agreed to extend the Bush era tax RATES (it was not a tax cut) he said and again I'm paraphrasing 'it's not a good idea to raise taxes on anybody in a bad economy'. so now it's a good Idea to raise taxes? I'm sure you could find someone to back this concept, some egg headed harvard economist that hasn't stepped out of the ivy encrusted halls in decades and all they can do is theorize. out here in the real world top down keynesian spending hasn't worked and isn't about to. the economy is faltering, shambling, stumbling and gasping, I call it a 'zombie economy' so lets not raise the taxes right now just to placate the leftist base.

I'm hearing libs calling in to the conservative talk shows and praising Clinton, they all say the same thing. is there a website with lib talking points? is it a mass email? they all sound like parrots. they say 'Clinton raised taxes and created more jobs then Reagen'  lets look at that, the economy was clicking along on all cylinders back then. raising taxes in a good economy will only be a slight drag, like lowering taxes in a slight recession, you will barely notice it.

I had to get it all out, I may not have Internet 'til next week sometime. I feel better all ready  angel

Neither side have proven to be good stewards of our money that's why I would hate to have to give them even more.  Both sides acknowledge the fraud and waste with the various programs but their solutions are to either throw more (of our) money at it, or shut it off all together, rather than fix it.  I'd like to see all the SOBs voted out and start over.  The problem is that no state wants to let go of their sugar daddy.  I'd make line item veto a condition of getting any more money.   Its hard to stomach giving more money to people who seem to enjoy spending it on stupid stuff.
