one of my pods has a crack where the baker air wings attach.
at highway speeds the air wing is rocking back and forth and i'm afraid
it is gonna crack more.
what is the best way to fix the crack our is there a "how to" for this on the site.

I noticed a small hairline crack on one of mine as well..  I guess I will be doing the same thing..   Anyone else have problems w/ the side vents loosening up as you ride.  I notice it more when  a semi passes me and the force of air closes the baker's wing.  Anyone else run into this problem?  What did you do to fix it?

Thanks for the update on the mod I will do the same.

my left pod is cracked where the screws attach the air wing frame to the  pod.
today i took off the air wings, reinstalled the stock deflectors until i figure out what i'm gonna do.
my left air wing was really vibrating back and forth when at speed.
i'm afraid my whole pod would have cracked  and broke apart under so much pressure and movement.

That's exactly what I did on my left one, been that way for about three years now. When I reinstalled the Airwings, I added the 1" star washers under the Airwing mounting points. That does a couple things, one is to help cover the crack, the other is it spreads the load and makes it less prone to cracking.

Tightening down the chrome balls will help. According to Baker, you can remove the balls and use a pliers to crimp down the threads slightly. This will help keep the balls from loosening on their own.

The pictures that BamaDrifter64 posted in that link looks like he was missing the heavy black plastic washers that would of come with the AirWings.  ( I can't see them in the pictures and you should be able to)  They go between the pod and the two mounting tabs and fit into the counter bore in the plastic.  That would explain lots!  Mine have been on since the summer of 2001 with only a small crack that is barely noticeable.  I remove them 2-3 times a year for cleaning purposes.  They are quite stable.

Thanks Nitro,

I did tighten them yesterday w/ some pliers and all is better.
