Just curious if anyone has added speakers to the Leatherlyke bags? Lid, front etc. I like keeping the bars clear and was thinking about adding an amp & speakers and just running the MP3 through it. Any suggestions?

Cutting holes in the saddlebags  ???  I think I'd use the handlebar mount however it's your bike and if you want to butcher the bags then go for it...Be sure to use marine grade speakers  cooldude

Hey HMT Looking at those bags, you are going to have speakers aimed at the back of your legs or back of your head.Don't think they will play all that well. Think ,the bars are the best place for sound, aimed at you.

Unless you plan on riding in reverse most of the time.... the sound will be behind you at the start and will only be weaker or worse as you move.  Speakers should be in front IMO.  And as Joe said... those are some nice bags to butcher... but your decision.     If you don't want speakers on the bars, consider them on the side of your shield where the lights or light bar is.

And, if you are still set on the putting them in the bags... I would recommend you put them on the lids facing up (of course) and then maybe, just maybe you can put a backing plate of some kind (plastic or aluminum) to protect the speakers from the bottom and help push or project the sound up and out, instead of reverberating in the bag.

Why not just ear buds or do you REALLY want all around to hear your music ?

Yeah, thanks for the advice, I think I will leave the bags alone & look at other options.  Undecided
