I was driving my commute this morning, dragging my floor board in the curves like I usually do  Cool and then I heard a thump and the smooth dragon jumped to the left just a millimeter. I was like HUMM what was that ??? then I felt something not right with my right foot, I looked down at my right floor board and there it was sticking out at a strange angle.. On any other bike I think I would have wiped out with the force that it took to bend the bracket, I hardly felt it, love my smooth dragon...

But now to the point, I like floor boards but I do rub them. It looks as if the spring or just the under edge of the floor board caught something on the road. The spring is gone (was it there before this hit?) From what I can tell the actual floor board is not damaged but the bracket on the bike bent back, the weld looks good. it is binding my rear brake petal from moving

Take a Look at the photos... The first one is the shift side, its ok, the rest of them is the brake side.

So do I try to bend it back
Do I buy a new "bracket"
some other option?

You don't by chance have a larger picture of the damage.

My old eyes even with my cheaters on, I couldn't make it out too good and when I blew it up it distorted it too much.

Just guessing, I'd try to straighten it and it that fails, buy a new bracket.    Not sure if they sell it separately, so if they don't give Pinwall a try for just the bracket.    A good machine shop can probably straighten it out for ya without too much damage to the chrome.

RJ those small pics are actually links.  Click on them and they'll open up in a new window.

Looks like you need to buy a new mounting plate for the right step, that's what Honda calls it.  You can either try and find a used one or buy a new one.  I would try Pinwall or ebay first.

Look like I will try to find a used mounting plate, if i can. tonight I will try to bend it back temporarily so that I can use my rear brake.

I took a couple of more pics and it look like a chunk of the front edge of the board broke off. doesn't look like it from above but if you compare the left and right boards "under shots" you can see a non rubbed but broken lip on the front edge of the right board.
I don't think it will affect the use of the board just looks a little "cookie monster-ish" if you lay in front of the motorcycle and look at the front of the motorcycle (not that I do that often  Roll Eyes )

Anybody else have boards that they rub, how long do they last you. I have had these on for only 2 months and they already look scraped down.

And yes click the image for a bigger view. the photos can scale all the way up to 2592x1944 pixles

MCE boards are the least used boards on Valks.  Cobra then probably Rivco are the most used.  Looks like your leading corner caught something on the road that caused it to bend out and down.  When you get it fixed try not to lean so hard on it.  The MCE boards are wider in the front than the rear and are the only boards I know of like that.  Others using boards have the side edge of the board touch.

I've seen local riders modify the floor boards by welding a couple of nuts to them, so they can bolt a sacrificial skid plate onto them.

That is exactly what I was thinking.
These boards are made of aluminum so can't weld it. I think I will drill/tap some holes and make a couple of skid plates. or better skid ski's that will curve up at the front to go over things.
