Horrible stuff for a peaceful, civilized country like Norway. So many lives lost to a nutcase.

It is awful what has happened.
My son is active in the AUF (the group that was gathering on Utøya) but could not afford the airline ticket and dreaded to ask me about money ... Fortunately.
Four of his close friends is killed, six are severely injured in hospital and two are missing. Norway are grieving. Nearly 90 teenagers have been killed in a bestial way, they were executed in front of their friends who survived the drama.   Cry

Unfortunately, this tragedy appears to be fueled by a combination of religious and political influences.  There will always be mentally unstable extremists who feel they must fulfill an agenda with violence.

Dag:  Very sorry to hear that this has touched you personally.

There is simply no real evidence of motive yet disclosed .

I am sick of cowards killing children.  If they have an agenda, real or perceived, let them go after men.  Crazy as a loon or not, he and those like him should go in a chipper (after a necessary trial and conviction).

Sorry for the loss Dag... Your son must feel terrible.  Glad he wasn't there to see it ... or worse ... be a victim himself.  Prayers go out from Mass USA to the families.

In 1940, the Norwegian poet Nordahl Grieg wrote: "We are so few in this country. Every fallen is a brother or a friend"
This rings true today.

I want to thank you for the sympathy you show Norway during this difficult time.
It helps us to get on your feet again and look forward.
There is a reason why we have eyes in front of the head, it is the future that counts.
Look forwards...
