Most have suggested Honda Line.

Me, I go to my dealer with the prices I can get online, and try to negotiate a lower prices, like wholesale. This way I save on the shipping.

In my opinion "It doesn't matter." Honda doesn't make replacement parts anymore. I have been waiting for 14 months for a high wear part that interchanges with all 1500cc Honda motorcycles. Lots of excuses, but still no part.

I just ordered a couple of things from cheapcycleparts.com - a petcock and the right switch assembly. That was a couple of days ago so I haven't received the parts yet.

Servicehonda.com.  They take your order, then get them from Honda and ship them to you.  Usually about 5-7 days to delivery.

+1 on Service Honda. A couple times they have had to put part of my order on back-order, but I was always notified of it. One time, the back-order came in and they overnighted it to me on their dime...got here before the main part of the shipment. Guess that's why they're called "Service" Honda.  They will check availability while on the phone with you taking your order.

shop till you drop.  thats the fun of it.  Online is generally the way to go.  Some dealers will at least come close to HDL, not most dealers tho.

Closest Honda dealer to me is about 40 miles away up in the high desert.  I went there looking for a part and they didn't have it but said they could order it and they would call me to pick it up when it arrived.  I had a print out from HDL at about 70 - 75% of what they were asking.  I asked if they would match and they said no and tried to "guilt" me into buying it there because they said their costs were higher and bikers should support them.

So I said "you want me to buy a part here and then make an 80 mi round trip to pick it up when I can get it cheaper and delivered to my door?  I don't think so."  This is the same place I asked about doing some work on the bike and was told that the manager didn't like them doing work on "old motorcycles."  Go figure.  uglystupid2
