That looks like what is referred to a Band-Aid tire for on big diameter wheels.

Like 20" and bigger.

Nuther words, no sidewall to speak of.

However, I might be blowin smoke out of me butt also.
The picture just looks like one of them, would have to see it in real life.

I have a used one in excellent condition... just like the one in the photo: 205/60/16. Smiley
I was going to use it on the Valk as a "try out"  just to see / feel how the c/t concept works.

After all, I chose a new NEXEN N5000... 205/65/16, a cheaper tire; not as good lookin' but well priced at $89. ???

BTW, my friend has the one pictured on his VTX 1800. It looks awesome! Also, I have a new full set to go on the wife's car...
Again, the same as pictured. Roll Eyes

anyone ever hear of "NEXEN"?

From their website

Our History.

Originally established in 1942 as Heung-A Tire, Nexen Tire has over 60 years of tradition as a respected leader in the tire industry.  Acknowledged as Korea’s first tire company, we first began car tire production in 1956.

Over 30 years later, in 1985, the company was expanded through the construction of a radial tire factory in Yangsan, Korea.  Through an alliance six years later with a Japanese company, OHTSU Tire & Rubber, we furthered our technological know-how and manufacturing capabilities.

In an effort to reflect our dedication to quality and continued leadership, we changed the company name in 2000 from Woosung Tire to Nexen Tire Corporation. The name Nexen is a combination of two future-oriented words; next and century. That same year also saw Nexen Tire listed on the KOSPI 200 Index future market.

Nexen Tire practices constant improvement and restructuring to sustain growth and anticipate market demand.  For example, we closed our BIAS tire plant in 2003 due to low revenues and invested instead in the opening and operation of a second manufacturing plant. By 2004, we were introducing Ultra High Performance tires and developing High Performance SUV tires.

In 2005, Nexen Tire was awarded a patent for the technology to manufacture rubber/stratified silicate nano-composite tires. By 2006, we had completed development on the new UHP and Winter LTR/SUV pattern. To accommodate increased global demand for the Nexen brand, we opened yet another tire manufacturing plant in Qingdao, China in 2007.

Due to our commitment to quality products, friendly service and exceptional value, Nexen’s domestic market share has increased from 8% to 20%, with annual sales now exceeding $600 million dollars. We employ over 2,000 employees, each dedicated to building a superior and safe product. Nexen Tire currently exports to 120 countries. We are truly proud of our products and stand confidently behind each and every tire.

That is not a challenge... Most would confidently stand behind ANY tire.
The real question ought to be; would they feel confident standing in front of theirs?

just came across this car tire, anyone ever hear of "NEXEN"? here's the N3000;

I used to have Nexens on my old '95 Lexus GS300. Although that is now over 6 years or so ago.
From what I can remember they are not a bad tyre. They would best be described as a good  mid-range option - based on budget, mid-range and premium brand/grade tyres.
I got a deal on a set of four, which was too hard to resist. They gave the Lexus I had a softer/smoother ride than the Pirellis that were on it at the time.
I racked up about 20,000 miles on them before I traded the car on, and there was still loads of life left in them.

THE NEXEN BRAND IS CARRIED BY PEPBOYS. and I had thought about the 2055516 for my bike as well tho, I setteld on a hankook v2 concept tire instead. but the nexen tire isbuilt very well, at a lost price. and yes RJ, they are actually an entry level uhp tire and recent into the suv market which is now using mostly 18" thru 22" wheels so, still a rubber band of sorts.Cheesy

Nexen is a inexpensive Koren tire that performs well. The rubber is a little bit more slippery than the grippy tires but the tire longevity is good. You will not find a cheaper tire that will keep up with it and I would put it up to most of the name brands without a problem. In fact I would rather have this tire on than most name brands. Now this is talking about on cars you are on your own for a MC tire.
