Have been hunting ghosts on this thing for about a month now. Got it with the carb completely disassembled in a bag. No settings for the mix and idle screws, replaced the jets and float needle, good spark, good compression and over 40hg of vacuum at the test port on the intake. Why wont this D@mn thing run???? Putting fuel down the plug hole gets an instant response. HELP!!!!

Fresh gas?
New plug? proper gap?
Air cleaner condition? pre oiled or dry?
I know the year we have the choke looks like it works backwards and the kids always put it in the wrong position, Up is OFF,,,, down is choke ON if memory serves.
You 100% sure your getting fuel out of the carb and into the cylinder?
You said putting fuel down the plug hole gets instant response,,, does that mean it will start and make a few cycles or will it just fire one time and die?

New gas, New petcock, Open petcock with no fuel line, gas runs out. Open carb drain while connected to petcock, and gas runs out. New air filter (uni?) ( provided to me by the owner.) Gas down the plug hole will get it to spin for a few seconds with the throttle held wide open. On this one according to the owners manual says choke on is up position. Have tested the carb while off the bike by blowing compressed air through the throat of the carb, and was able to see fuel being pulled into the throat out of the bowl. Repetetive kicking, or rolling clutch pop in 3rd gear( I'm 6'4" trying to kick a little bike SUCKS) will get a fuel smell like its flooded. Muffler was disassembled and checked, its clear. All vent lines are new. Pulled the inspection plug on the head , and the valves are opening. I started at 1 1/4 turns out, and started backing the mix screw out 1/4 turn at a time to 4 turns out with nothing. not even a pop. (Insert smiley lighting dirtbike on fire) This is why I ride HONDA

Man, your situation "SUCKS BUTT", sorry.
I understand the tall and kicking short bike thing, even though I am only 6'1".
If ya lived closer I would happily have you drag that "paper weight" over and give it a check out for ya, you know somtimes just a different set of eyes makes the difference.
Ours is the DRZ-125 so the carburator may be a bit different like the choke position but basically the same bike.
I can't remember if you had mentioned in your other posts on this bike but were you able to definately verify timing? You did say you checked compression, correct? Was that just a thumb over the plug hole or did you use a regular compression guage? Did the book show the range of acceptable comression?
Praying for you, that you don't actually end up lighting this little bike on fire as your quote above suggests. LOL! Walk away for a day or two mess with it next week, works for me on occasion.
