My parts are coming Tuesday for a complete rebuild. Looking for any advice.
Also, I see references to the vauum line to #6 cylinder. The line from the petcock appears to run to the rear cylinder on the left (clutch) side of the bike. Maybe I didnt see it right.

That is #6 cylinder. The line is the source of vacumn for the petcock. Fuel will not flow without it.  Hoser

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I've had to rebuild mine twice in the last year, it's a 30 minute job once you have it down. Just keep everything in order and note which side faces in as you go so that you know how to put the new pieces in. The worst part of the whole job is getting the tank bank on.

While waiting for the kit I converted mine to manual. Kit has been here a year or two I'm happy with on/off manual.

Zeus661 someone posted some instructions that is when I did mine. I thought I saved the info and must have hid it well I haven't found it yet. I will keep looking.
You do understand the petcock has to be turned off when not in use. I rode most of my life with manual fuel valves they are not for everyone.

Well I found the link that shows the conversion on a similar petcock.
This is the one I used. Looking through my files I ordered the cover set
in March 2010.

Did mine about 4 years ago. I just removed all rubber parts and placed a thick piece of gasket material between the two parts where the diaphram was. It seals off the vent and vac. port from the wet side and makes the valve totally manual. cooldude

As added insurance, you might consider adding an electric fuel valve if changing to a manual petcock. Since mine has failed twice in a year, I'll be doing it at some point.
