I am building a trike from a basket case '99.  I have all parts for front end so it's height is established.  My problem is the rear---no wheel, no swing arm.  Can  one of you technically oriented Valk owners give me a scale dimension from the ground to the centerline of the swing arm pivots .  This would allow me to set the rear to the correct height and the motor as level as the factory wanted it.  I Don't want to mess up at this point.  Thanks much!!!!!

if you had the front wheel on, then I would take a normal bubble level to the frame and this would give you a horizontal hieght to the pivots on the swingarm.

I think you are unnecessarily complicating what to do to make a trike out of a Valkyrie.

Most trike kits lose the swing arm and rely upon the rear axle in the kit for the suspension.

The rear axles already come with spring mounting points and you can shorten a rear end in the proper manner to get the differential in line with the u-joint at the motor.

Connect the bike frame to the carriage in a solid manner and the carriage then becomes the top mounting point for the springs.

The best and easiest thing to do is purchase a kit.  All the hard things needed are already fabricated and engineered.
