Given your current mileage, what stock *components have you had to replace on your Valk due to actual wear? (Not out of Desire).
*Skip the obvious, common, and general maintenance ones, i.e. tires, brakes, battery, plugs, oil, lights, and filter.
Here’s mine - 2000 Standard / 92,000 miles
All but gaskets and shocks have been done once:
1. Alternator brushes 2. Dampers (rear wheel) 3. Fork seals and bushings 4. Rotors (Front) 5. Seals associated with the rear end and foot shifter 6. Shocks (twice based on a receipt issue involving my 440's) 7. Side stand stop bolt 8. Starter switch repair 9. Steering head bearings 10. Timing belts 11. Repaired starter switch 12. Valve cover gaskets 13. Wheel bearings (front and back) 14. Yoke

97 Tourer bought Sept 96. Currently setting on 242K + mileage
1. Front Rotors - Replaced with good after market ones from across the pond. 2. Starter Relay - One for an older Gold Wing, see Jeff K generic parts list. 3. Timing Belts twice - Old ones looked like new, Gates. 4. Starter button maintenance. 5. Brake pads front & rear. Across the pond front and stock rear. 6. Rear hub bumper pads. Got the neoprene ones now. 7. Speedometer, guts fell apart. 8. Tail light/Brake wiring loom at connector under fender on back. 9. Alternator 10. Shocks, my choice, Progressive Heavy Duty Spring. 11. 5 or 6 Car tires, also, several front tires. Mostly Metz on front. 12. DAT'S ALL, not too bad for the mileage on MGM.
Now back to our regular programming.

1. Drive shaft 2. pinion cup 3. universal joint 4. original battery (this spring
i'm not 100% sure, but i'm thinking that my drive shaft/pinion had gotten worn and that might be what did in my universal joint, or maybe it was vise versa?
i did replace my tire stems, a friend had given me a set, and when i pulled the old ones they were cracked and split so it was a good thing to be changed!!
no issues with anything else.

Oil, filter, tires, sidestand bolt.
I've only had her a year and a half, and have put more on her than replaced (bigger windshield, jack adaptor, valve stems, hi-way pegs, crashbars (damaged and bent when purchased)). She's got 32K miles, (got her at 14,000) and lots of new shiney thingies. Fred.

as for the 99 I/S w/210,000+ miles
rebuilt the alternator 3x rear case and seals due to 2 Alt. bolts that snapped off drive shaft and pinion cup U-joint on third set of front rotors due for 2nd timing belt change fork seals 2x and guides once shifter seal carb manifold O-rings 2x
and of course the numerous reg maintenance items.......

2000 I/s, 69K Miles
Tires, brake pads, oil, filters, light bulbs (normal stuff) On second battery. Seats (Ultimate Big Boy)
trunk, fairing, right saddlebag, right crashbar due to serious accident in 2001.
Dampers (super neoprene now), shock bushings.
Original everything else.
Lots of preventative maintenance.
Runs like new.
