Doreen Baxter-REST IN PEACE GIRL. I really get sick to death every time i read about one of my brothers or sisters dying out there due to someone elses STUPIDITY. The poem in the comments section after her notice says a lot. After all my years of riding i still do not have the answer for someone elses stupidity. RIDE SAFE.

I believe it is called HIGH BEAM.... Most of these bikes you can not see that little match burning the daylight. Especially Harley Low Riders.
Coming home from the toe Dr yesterday, my wife was driving and she almost turned in front of a motor. We both saw that little match stick at about the same time. At least he had enough room to avoid her.
I used to harp all the time for ya'll to run the high beam. Was told I was stupid and didn't know what the F*** I was talking about. Well yesterday proved to me again, ya can't see those firkin little candle sticks when looking in the direction the sun is coming from. I don't mean when it is low and starting to set I mean when the time is 2:30 to 3:00 PM.
So get your HIGH BEAM on and see what happens.

On my last bike, a V65 magna, it only had a single headlight, and many cagers almost whacked me, didn't matter what time of day. I personally don't run high beam.
Since I got the Valk, with the Cobra spotlights, I've not had anyone try to whack me. Those spots really make the match stick wider. People see me very well.

R J been running the high beams as a matter of course since i've been riding. It is a good idea and i beleive in it. That being said-i've still been cut off. Lotsa folks out there just not paying attention at all. And all of us know why they aren't. A lot more distractions now than when i started and a lot more now then when you started. Add to that mix that way to many folks just flat don't give a crap about no one but them selves. As long as that attitude is prevelent with folks under the steering wheel and nobody bothers to correct them-well it ain't gonna get no better rapidly. Agree completly an the headlight thing though. Some riders in this area chose to cut off their head light from the ignition switch and DO NOT run any kinf of head light in day light hours. I won't name a brand but i know you know what i'm talking about. Not dumping on ya R J-just trying to figure some of this B/S out. As always my friend-RIDE SAFE.

Hate to hear of things like that happening!! Always high beams & I will quite often give a couple of short blasts on the horns as I approach those turn-in-front-of-you situations. Got car horns mounted under the Valks! I don't care if my horn tapping bothers anybody. It helps keep me alive! Situational awareness can't hurt.

a hi/lo beam modulator is federally legal put in an off road bulb that is 10-20 watts higher and/ or better yet put on a cobra light bar and put in the piper cub landing lights [on a seperate switch] and slightly cross the headlights inward-look up in archives for the part #,a priority plus for the rear with some awesome viking headers with the baffles out the brightest clothing and helmet you can muster ride like no one can see you and only ride in light traffic keep your space so everyone should see you stainless steel brake lines and keep 2 fingers poised at all times covering the front brake
