Wasn't there a post on here a little while ago where someone had a link for a electric shifter. The shifter buttons were located on the handle bars. I think it was a little pricey though.
That'd be me, It's a Kliktronic Electric shifter
http://www.kliktronic.co.uk/ She's a bit pricey and the reason I did not mention it here............ but it is the ticket if you are somehow disabled or like me just don't like the stock shift position, I lucked out and copped it off a fellow VRCC member for half the actual cost, (right after I pulled the trigger on a set of forward controls from Barry of Bigbikethings, sold them shortly after to a fellow in Italy, but that's another story) After owning this unit I wouldn't hesitate to pay the full price for one, it is that good. It is awesome in the twisties as well as stop and go riding and hitting nuetral at a light is a breeze with just a light stab of the button. As I say it is a little costly, but if you're anything like me and like to ride the highway pegs, you'll never go back to the foot shift, although it is still 100% functional and can be shifted as normal due to the full floating piston on the unit, even when I'm going hot in twisties with my feet on the stock pegs I still find myself using the buttons rather than the shift peg, it is simply one motion (squeeze the clutch lever and the appropriate switch all at once and it's done, like butta)

and yes I have too many pegs !!!
