I can't think of the name of the stuff that can be used to fill and help seal shafts.. I'll try to find the can of it, if there is any still around.. I was skeptical of this stuff,but, tried it for the heck as the strut arms were very expensive and its still holding up after about 15 years.. You just fill the scars and emery/sand smooth.. RP#62 may know the name of this stuff..
