It is truly a gift to be able to not only put your feelings in words-the crux of said gift is having other people understand it. cooldude I'm truly glad i'm a rider and twice blessed-i do understand. Again daniel-thanks bro-and you DO have a way with the words. coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.

Just Riding The Many Storms Of Life

You have almost brought a tear to my eye, Daniel.  Some do hide from the night, but others thrive and even look forward to darkness.  I am one of these.  And maybe this sounds crazy, but when I am on the road, I seem to be at home night driving.  After all, its part of my job.  And I do hunt for the night creatures.  For one reason or another, but I am always on the hunt for the elusive dragon, both mythical and real.  Be safe.  I hope to meet you soon.

Very well said Daniel.

You've touched on much of what I am now missing.  My wife has been gone now for 10 long years so there is no longer any woman in my life.

My night vision is not what it was, keeping me from riding at night and experiencing that delicious feeling of dipping into the hollows of the road where the cold air adds goosebumps to the ride.

The feeling of aloneness (not all that bad) that we experience when riding solo in the darkness of early morning.  The aloneness replaced by the exuberance of the machine doing your bidding and the feeling of independence makes its mark..

Sorry, Daniel, i got carried away.  your writing does that.

My Dad had a few old sayings that fit here............  "You know your onions' and "You hit the nail on the head!"

Thanks, Daniel,

Wow!  What a writer.  And you ride too?  Tell me you can cook and I'll propose marriage.

I posted a link in the VTX Cafe.

Sorry, Daniel, i got carried away.  your writing does that.

No apologies needed. I'm flattered when I can manage to communicate what I've felt on the road. It's not about where we go...it's about how we live and what we feel along the way.

My Dad had a few old sayings that fit here............  "You know your onions' and "You hit the nail on the head!"

Heh...my Dad uses "You hit the nail on the head!". Never heard the one about onions.

Wow!  What a writer.  And you ride too?  Tell me you can cook and I'll propose marriage.

Heh...I *can* cook, ya can't get into the shape I'm in without knowing how to cook (hey, "round" IS a shape).

As far as marriage, sorry, I'm taken Smiley

Thanks for passing on the link!

Thank you again, Daniel.  You always speak to my soul.  Most especially when you write about just you and the dragon, alone, the night, in tune with nature, the unknown.  Nothing better than feeling the throbbing, pulsing, heartbeat of the beast rumbling between your knees.
