I took pictures of custom plates I saw at Inzane.  I'm sure there were lots that I missed at various times, but these are the ones I saw when I was out and about with my camera.

I added them to JustPics here: http://photo.vrccservices.com/thumbnails.php?album=954

Santa won the best License Plate award at the Saturday night banquet.  Here is his plate:

I'll try not to make this another rant against government, but I just got my renewal notice and the one-year Luxury Plate fee has gone from $85.00 to $195.00.  That does not include registration.  All in, the bill is almost $260.00.  The explanation from the third-party MyPlates.com is that the introductory discount has been discontinued.  Silly me, I keep everything, and the receipt from my order last year does not say anything about special pricing.  They would have gotten another year out of me at $85.00 (part of something), but now, they'll get (all of) nothing.

Mine in Iowa is $15.     $5.00 for the Purple Heart & Personalized, $10.00 for the actual registration.

My damn truck went from $85.00 to $370.00, lost my farmers discount.   All trucks were $85, when they started they were $35, and as the years went by, they would add $10 or so, finally, the legislature passed a bill where the trucks would all pay according to the passenger car rules.   List price and weight is used to calculate the fees.   Trying to balance the budget.........   Should take a healthy hunk out of it, cause over 50% of the vehicles in Iowa are trucks.     I know I bought my pickups way back when so as to keep the license fees in line.  Originally the low fee was for the farmers benefit.   Then pickups got very popular.

Hey Russ check out the DV plates.  Here in Louisiana they are about 12 bux and permanent.  Nice being able to do it one time and forget it.

Brother Dave, I think you've been "Had" by the Lone Star State. This is my regular plate.
Note the "CF" , they knew it was an Interstate. LOL

You're right, Eli.  They had me for one year.  BUT, they didn't get me for any more.  I went "off the shelf" at renewal time.  The personalized one is now on my toolbox.

Tom, are you kidding?    This state wouldn't give ya nuttin for FREE.  My personalized plates add $5 to the annual fee.

MGM is $15, with 1BFMC (1 big friendly motorcycle club).
Trike is $15 with P0003 (Purple Heart)
Dakota is $370 with P0002 (Purple Heart)
Highlander is $368 with P0001 (Purple Heart)
AST Trailer is $25 with TOURN

When the Purple Heart plate was authorized, they were issued in the sequence applied for, with #1 being determined by a lottery.    It went to a guy in Cedar Rapids, he turned it in 3 years later and I asked for it and got it.
I received #2 for being the 1st to apply.
This year #3 was turned in and I grabbed it.
My lady down at DMV for my county said she would tell me when #4 is turned in.  When that happens, P0004 will replace the one on MGM, wife don't like the one currently on it, she knows the real meaning.

So for 5 units, it is $800 a year in tags.

Dang all. You got high dollar tags!

My Valk is $25 + $10 for Vol FF
04 Z-71 is $ 150 ish + $10 for Vol FF
01 Blazer is $60 ish

I think Ind tag fee is based on vehicle value. You got to old of a vehicle its a flat $25 min.
