I noticed in another post that starting model year 2000 that the engines were no longer stamped "Made In U.S.A." .... is that true ?? And if it is, what's that all about ??

I believe it was due to a change in regulations, as to the definition of what can and can't qualify to use the statement "Made in USA".

I THINK it was because the % changed from 80% to 85% that had to be manufactured/assembled in the USA. YMMV

I have heard that the Victory is the most USA made motorcycle now. Is this true? If so anyone have a clue as to what percentage USA made?

You won't find that statement on many things these days.
MADE IN THE USA
One of the problems we need to conquer to get back up near the area where we can breath again.
Where are we headed these days.
Do any of you get a sinking feeling about where we are going?

On my '99m I/S it's on the right side engine case by the dipstick. Yeah, that's a LOT better description than "at the right footpeg"!! But I had just got out of bed.

99 I/S, date of manufacture 3/99, regs must have been changed earlier, does not have "made in USA" on it.

My 99 STD is a California model and it has "MAde in USA"
Unfortunately I'm required to do a lot importing in my job and the term "Made in USA" has a different meaning from the term "Country of Origin US" According to my documents the Federal Government requires 55% of the total value to be of US origin and that figure can include labor. Unfortunately for all of us made in USA is a very expensive term these days.
