made it to Sturgis today.  My first time.  So many bikes on the last 200 miles in it was great.

Up from SoCal west of Sierras, up though northern Nevada desert, into Idaho and overnight at jackson, wy.  Then up through Grand Teton Nat Park, south part of Yellowstone and over to Cody last night.  Today into SD staying in Spearfish, 20 miles out of Sturgis. here about 4 and into Sturgis for a couple of hours.  Lots of sights and sounds.

Only here for a couple of days, Spearfish canyon, Custer, Mt rushmore, Badlands Nat Park . . .  then another week or so to explore. going back to yellowstone for another day then maybe up to Glacier National Park.  Sort of out of the way and then makes a long few days home.  But . . . I have never been there.

a few pics.

Twin Falls, ID

Snake River - site of Evil Knieval's failed 1974 attempt to jump in rocket powered motorcycle.  A big screw up.

Grand Tetons

And Sturgis.  Will not be there much, but riding in area around here for a couple of days then back west.  Walked around a while and only saw one Valk.

Oh, I just noticed, a giant has his finger in the right upper corner about to crush a few Harleys.

Reminds me. About 100 miles out at a rest stop some guys were trying to push start a Harley.  Said starter "burned out". A few guys were pushing it in the parking lot trying to start it in 1st gear.  My buddy an I went over to help, but I said "try it in 3rd".  Started right up and they were very thankful.

Bump Glacier National Park to the top of your must see list.

It's worth it.

Spearfish Canyon was the highlight of our trip to IZXI this year.  TJ and I had a 'race' through the canyon and at the end of the ride we were giggling like a bunch of school girls!
I bet you don't have the wide open (no traffic) road through the canyon that we had, but it was a beautiful sight at about 8 pm in the evening with the sun hitting the side of the canyon.

Let us know how your ride through Spearfish Canyon goes.

Must do Lolo pass...77 miles of winding roads... best ride in the area... and Glacier is awesome.  Did that a few years ago... nice ride.  Enjoy it all.

Spearfish was nice, but rained pretty good for about 1/2 hour.  All bikers were stopping to put on gear.  then had to stop and take everything off again.

Thanks for the report Don.  Dam shame it was raining.  That smooth asphalt sure would be slick if it were wet.
Ride safe my friend.
