I saw that. $700 a pair plus your wheels shipped or let them keep the $300 core charge.

Makw sure they did not chrome the wheel bearing race on the wheels, a friend finally found out why his wheel bearings would go out every two or three months. They should have probably left the bearings in place done the chrome, and then removed them and then installed new bearings, or somehow kept the chrome plate off the race. I think MP figured it out.for the rest of us dummys. Hoser

I restore antique airplanes, and some antique autos, chrome on aluminum is offered by many shops, but most do not use the proper process. If these folks do, in fact, use the process they describe that is a VERY good price. I wonder about remounting the tires after plating? Sometimes scratching the plating in any way, will cause it to began peeling. Has anybody used these guys? or know anything about them? I love my Tourer, but polishing the wheels is something I tend to neglect, it is the last thing I usually do, so sometimes I don't spend enough time on it, and just go ride. I usually remove the wheels to polish and do other PM, so It only gets done properly once or twice a year. BoJangles

Hard Six in Louisiana was selling them, but I believe I bought the last set. His wife is having some medical problems, and last time I talked to him, he was devoting his time to her.

I bought this set of wheels. I'll let you know what I think. They offer prepaid core return shipping and will install wheel bearings if you want. I chose to do my own. I'll be shipping my cores back to them so who ever buys next will get some straight and unblemished cores.

Make sure they did not chrome the wheel bearing race on the wheels BIG +1!!! Undoing that the wrong way, unless you are REEEEEEALLY good with a dremel or hone, will (if you're as picky as most of us down here) probably ruin the wheel. Undoing that the right way (CNC) will add several hundred dollars to your chrome wheel buying experience.

Big Mike of ValkyrieBlingAndMore.com, a VRCC vendor, has chrome wheels that he says are triple chrome plated. That is, the process includes a copper layer for the chrome to stick to. It seems that chrome doesn't stick to aluminum very well. His price for the wheels is the same as the ebay vendor and we all know Big Mike is in it for the long haul. (and no I haven't yet received my chrome wheels and yes I wish I had thought about Big Mike's chrome wheels before I pulled the trigger.)

well,I finally got my chrome wheels mounted. The wheel bearings pressed in fine as they had masked everything off. I did have to dremil the ID of one or two brake discs due to chrome buildup but that's not unexpected and not hard or any big deal. The chrome looks great and the condition of the cores is great. I used DynaBeads to avoid wheel weights of any kind. If the wheel slips on the chrome the DynaBeads don't care. Only time will tell as to how the chrome holds up.
