I need to know generally how many people will go to the Texas hill country ride-in, so I can ask hotels for availability.Try to answer as accurately as you can.  I understand that not telling you which weekend it is makes it harder, but the weekend will be driven by availability of hotels, as it was last year.
If you can't make it every weekend, then let that affect your answer, and reduce the probability of you going.  The answers are somewhat tongue in cheek, and conceptual in nature.  I will leave it up to you to determine which answer fits your situation best.  If you're having brain transplant surgery on the 1st of October, then you probably can't go no matter what, so give the "I work 24/7" answer as your no. For the purposes of this poll, the actual reason doesn't matter.

Before InZane, I would have said "hey, it's 6 hours of riding to get there - whew!"

Now, I say "hey, it's only 6 hours of riding to get there - piece of cake!"

Amazing what an iron butt ride will do to change your attitude.

FYI, Dallas Ride for Kids is October 2nd.  That would cut down on the Dallas participants.  Probably should take that into consideration.

That is precisely why I targeted mid-October, rather than early October.  I don't intend to schedule this for the same weekend as RFK.

Definitely inted to go, providing the better half can get the weekend off.

It helps that Oct is after tourist season. Shame I didn't get my limit this year though!  crazy2

I'm going to throw this out there.   http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/monthly.html?year=2011&month=10

and this

http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/events/2011/dallas-fortworth.html

DFW ride for kids is Sunday October 2nd.

So we have  7,8,9,  or  14,15,16  or  21,22,23  weekends to choose from.   Smiley

Once again, I have no intention of scheduling it for the RFK weekend.  I checked that date before I posted this poll, and that's why I stated mid-October rather than early October.
Columbus day weekend is tempting, for the extra day.

I'll take it under advisement.  (:

What happened to the inventor of the sarcasm font?  Did he not come in to work that day because it was raining?

repost.  I have it from FLATBUSTED today that a Kerrville Texas ride-in the first couple of weekends in October will not be in conflict with ROMP IN THE SWAMP 4 in Louisiana, which will be held closer to Halloween weekend.    T.P.

You could always do a poll with the different weekend dates to see which was most popular - allow more than one choice as well.   It probably depends more on when the different hotels/motels are available than anything else.

Hey Mark , Oct. 7-8-9 weekend is great for us , the Geezers  crazy2 .... I myself have something pending for Oct. for the 14-15-16 for right now but subject to change IF I know what date everybody wants the Hill Country Ride on , that way I can change my date at the same time because I don't want to miss this get together ... could you run a poll on what specific dates in Oct. the rank & file would want ? Thanks the Geezer's  crazy2

That works for us.  Trying to make both this one and swampfest, and of course the first weekend in Nov. is bambi killing weekend. May have to decide on two out of three. If it's cold deer season is a no brainer and if it warm the two rides look good. Wink
