Put the fat girl in the shop for some minor work: new fork seals and fork oil (check bushings and sliders, too), install new LED taillight (brake, turn, run), replace non-working saddlebag locks with new ones and change out the front headlight bulb for one of the Silverlight bulbs.

I go in the "shop" Tuesday, the 16th, for a knee replacement on the right knee. Had it replaced originally in 2002, but the Doctor......errrrrr.........quack installed the bottom component 6o off center. I've had three revisions to that knee since (not by the original doctor!), and the pain seems to be getting worse, I can't walk without a cane, and have to use one of those electric shopping carts when I go to Wally World.

So, I'll have 4-6 weeks of therapy after and by then, it ought to be prime riding season! I just need to be sure I don't rush things and get out there before the knee is strong enough to hold up the bike!

Good luck with the operation.  I'm putting off my surgery until fall.  This time of year is my favorite riding season.  I just have to have a dig and grind job on the left knee.  Had the right one done 5 years ago and it really needs it again also. Getting old ain't easy.  Takes a high pain tolerance.  Get well soon.

Good luck with yer knee surgery, BR... Hope yer well enough to join us for a weekend of riding adventure in the Guntersville area when it cools down some (late September or early October)... I like to celebrate the end of summer, and that's a nice area for cruising... In any event, I do hope all goes well with your procedure(s)...

Man, that sounds like a plan, DDT!! The area around Guntersville, Grant and Ft. Payne is really nice riding territory. I'd love to get together with you any time after mid-October (therapy and all, you know).

Prayers coming your way my friend!  Keep me posted on the Guntersville ride.  That is a beautiful area and I would love to make the ride if I can!

BR, Dubs, everybody,

We plan to also make SmokinJoe's annual Fall Color Ride again this year, so I'll be looking at weekends that do not conflict with that. The FCR is usually around the middle of October (I don't remember the dates off hand), so I'll shoot for maybe the last weekend in October or the first one in November for Guntersville... Anybody have a preference? I'm definitely going, and I'm pretty flexible time-wise, so... sound off if sumthin' strikes yer fancy...
