Ok, here is my dilemma - I just got a Utopia back rest and went to install it. So I attempted to remove the hex bolts to install the back rest. I think that I may have stripped the hex in the hex bolts. Ok, I know I did... The design of these 2 bolts is terrible. Why would they use round top bolts with hex heads?? They had to know that I was going to purchase my 2002 Lady in December of last year and would eventally want to install a back rest. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in their setup. Looking for suggestions to get these 2 removed and hoping that part of the answer includes - "Get with Wizard" or "Wizard can help with that" or, "I have seen Wizard take those out with his bare hands". Thanks,

Wizard can just threaten them and they will back out.
That help? LOL!
The Utopia's worth the trouble.

I agree with you on those socket button bolts - but it seems every socket bolt on the Valk has a button top! Just find an Ace hardware and replace them as soon as you get them out. Mine are removed with every rear tire service and they started to strip. So I replace them with "real" metric machine bolts.
Ways to get them out now? Spray a little WD-40 around them, wait 20 minutes, use a slightly larger hex bit or a torx bit that you can tap into it with a hammer (note the word "tap") and remove them. Then take them to an Ace Hardware and find a hardened non-socket non-button (ie, get a real hex head bolt).
That's my .02 cents and what I did.
I like the Wizard idea, though.

If you have a dremel and a small cut-off wheel, you can grind a slot in the bolt head and use a big blade screwdriver.

That help? LOL! I suspect Wizard's doing a bit more than threatening out there, I retreated to the house before they started!

Hope the removal goes well! Let me add one other small tidbit... If you're using the Utopia backrest, do NOT remove the passenger seat!
Having the back rest, and not having the passenger seat will likely lead to what we technically refer to as "Bad Things" to happen, which would require another trip to Wizard (Or in my case Daniel Meyer) for much cussing, hammers, hot sparky things and other such festivities...
(Short version - Without the passenger seat to provide bracing, the backrest puts all the pressure of you leaning on it to a part of the rear fender that wasn't designed to take those pressures. I hit the throttle, and next thing I knew was looking straight up and the back rest had folded the rear fender back and in and put the back rest almost horizontally backwards... Fun times, fun times!)
(P.S. Thanks yet again Daniel!)

Ok problem has been solved but you will not believe what happened.. If I had not been there and witnessed it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it either.
I drive up in the shop, dismount and make small talk with Wizard and Phyllis. We then proceed to the task at hand. I remove the drivers seat and Wizard takes a look at the bolts that had been stripped. Mind you it was about 12:30 pm. All of a sudden it is pitch black and a cold breeze blows through the shop. I close my eyes and take a couple of steps backward. When I open my eyes, there he is... His hair and beard as white as snow. His eyes, blue, glowing blue. His robe, the color of a wheat field before harvest. He begins levitating and I cannot move. He spreads his arms apart and lightning begins to congregate in his hands. All at once he hurls the lightning toward my Lady and it hits the target bolts...
Ok maybe I exaggerate some - he got out his Harbor Freight EZ outs and we had them out in about 25 minutes...
Oh, Plan on leaving the passenger seat in place.
Thanks again Wizard - look forward to watching you again in the future. Willie
