Finally done installing new jets on my 98 Valk.  I've heard recommendations while I've got Valk guts all over the garage, I might as well replace the vacuum tubes.  The service manual doesn't specify what size hose to use and I don't have one of the old tubes with me.  Does anyone know the size for the vacuum tubes?  And how many feet of hose do you think it takes?  I was going to buy 6 feet since it's relatively cheap but I'd hate to end up being 1 inch short!

Thanks!

Why not just go ahead and do a de-smog and never have to worry about the vacuum lines again?

ricky's right.....by doing a de-smog you will eliminate all those pesky vacuum lines, and possible future leaks.

Showing off my lack of engine knowledge ... desmogging removes all the vacuum tubes, huh?  Mine has already been desmogged so I guess I'm all set!

I went to AutoZone and bought a pkg of tubing for the windshield washer.  Perfect fit and cheap.  No problems in the past 8 yrs.

If you insist on keeping the vacuum lines they're 4mm but 5/32nds will work.

Is 4mm the ID or OD?  I'm thinking of replacing my vacuum tubes with the silicone ones.  Probably will hold up to heat better.

i didn't have as much a hard time with the tubing (gas or vacuum) as i did with what do you use for all those clips that hold them onto the carb bowls,

Those are the drain lines from the bowls and no clips are necessary. The hoses are held on by the tight fit.
