My brother Bill passed away Friday night. He was 17 years my Sr., a retired collage professor and someone I looked up to greatly. Being 17 years older than me he could have hated being around me when I was a child. Instead, he included me in his life and we did many fun things together until he moved to Ohio when I was 10 or so.
He taught me how to set off fireworks without blowing myself up, he taught me snorkeling and inspired to me learn to scuba dive at the age of 13, he taught me a lot about life and even some electrical theory to dazzle his friends with.
Although we seldom saw each other in our later years I’m going to miss him greatly. The world just seems different without him in it.
Mom, Dad and both my brothers are gone now. My stepfather Ernie is still here thankfully although his health is very poor. My wife, kids and their families provide him with 24 hour care with very little help from me.
Please say a prayer for Bill and his family if you're so inclined. He leaves behind, his wife Bonnie, children, Jay, Kelly and Andy and two grandchildren.
Thanks, Mike

So sorry to hear of your loss brother. Bear is my older brother as well and took me along for my first concert, etc. growing up. Our fighting was from when I was like 14 until I was about 18. Some of the best fist fights I ever had. I mean, we were riding bikes with each other one minute (him on a 750 and me on a 550 and before that, me on a 175/70 and him on a 250) and pulling weapons on each other the next (and that is for sure and for certain). I think most of the stitches we got during that time, came from each other.
But since then, I can't imagine not having him with me. Since we have lost our mom and our dad, we are all we have left and speak every few days and miss each other when we are not. I have step family but no REAL family except him and his wife (who has become a sister to me) left.
I know it is going to happen one day - that one of us is going to left alone - and I dread the day. I don't know who will be last, since both of us have "lived life to the fullest" if ya know what I mean......
Brother - I am so sorry about your loss and you and your family are in my prayers this evening. My sincere, deepest condolences......

Your request is being answered from Iowa as we speak...
You are kind of like me now.
I'm the oldest living person on my dad's side of the family.
Mom's side I have her nicey nice sister. Don't get me started on her. We tangled rears when mom passed away in 92 and I haven't spoke to her since. Don't intend to either. Bossy 'B'.
I did what my mom asked me to do when she died. Her sister wanted to do it her way. Told her when she started paying the bills for mom, then she would have a say in it. Till then BUTT OUT.
So she spread the word around town that I did not do as her sister wished and wouldn't let her do right by her sister......
Her kids come by and say howdy, but they don't want their mom to know they do, cause she would have Sheet fit.

Very sorry to hear that Mike. Prayers for all.
I'm sorta in the same boat. Mom and Dad are long gone. Three of my four sisters are gone. My only sister remaining is in poor health but she lives close, a blessing.
My wife has been gone for seven years now. That has been the toughest!
At my age, I'm seeing friends in the obituaries almost every day.
However, my family and this VRCC club helps me to keep plugging away.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It's always toughest when it is a family member that you looked up to for years. You know you can always lean on your VRCC family for support. Remember the bad times and cherish the good ones. Prayers and best wishes are being sent out from western NY.
