I bought a new battery for my watch at my local London Drugs, but when I took it home I couldn't get the back off with a mini screwdriver to replace the battery. Rather than bring out the heavy artillery and accidentally wreck my watch, the next day I took it and the battery back to LD to see if they could do it for me. After much struggle and a $5 fee, they got my battery changed, but when I tried to set the time back at home, the adjustment knob easily came right off. After some back and forth between the store and head office to check their policy (apparently this had never happened before), they agreed to give me the Timex they had in stock that was closest in design to mine. Unfortunately, my watch with the blue face and stainless steel band was no longer produced by Timex, but I was real happy to find that I could make my old band fit the new watch, which had come with a leather one. Examples of the two watches are shown below. The fellow that damaged my watch suggested I take it to a jeweller next time. I think I will.
