.............is still prominently displayed at the Shady Valley Country Store!!  Stopped by there yesterday ......pretty big crowd and lots of Troopers on 421. Some in unmarked cars.  I rode 91 from Elizabethton to Shady Valley...then down to Damascus, VA and rt 58 across White Top Mtn, rode backroads down to Lansing, NC and West Jefferson (home of NC's only cheese factory).  200+ miles by the time I got back to the house. Dodged a few showers in Ashe County NC but a great day/ride !!

Hwy 91 is one of the best roads the 489 curves in 11 miles The Snake has to offer....I like ridin' that area and most of the time we do it in a day ride however it's much better if we make two days out of it.Picture below is Big Al lookin' for us a way off Mt. Rogers ( highest point in Va ) when we got caught in a snow storm several years ago and night coming on us quick ....Noway off that mountain without going off the mountain....What a RUSH  cooldude

Was 91 still covered with gravel? We rode up that way couple weeks ago....never
saw so much gravel!!! 421 was clear as a bell. Wonder if some of the locals
are keeping it clean?

I know up on The Dragon during the black bear / wild hog hunt the hunters will throw gravel in the curves and some have even poured oil in the curves  Angry  They don't like the motorcycles being there cause they can't hear their dogs when they hit a trail.

Hey CharlieMac,

Were you with a group of about 20 bikes???
I rode from Damascus to Shady Valley and past a group and thought I saw
at least two if not three Valks in the bunch. I know one for certain was a blue
and silver I/S. Was that you?
